Amber's 2011 Highlights

Thank you to all those that have been following me/my blog this year. I really enjoy sharing so its nice to know that there are others enjoying this journey with me. :D

365 days later and here I am. Stronger, wiser and more in love with JESUS. 2011 has been such a challenging year for me. I have done a lot of growing up and learnt a great deal about myself. So much has happened, including me joining twitter and starting this blog!!

I have been tweeting all morning about my 2011 lessons, as I have been reflecting. If you wish to read some of them, just go to my page @nash_amber << Click it. (",)

The biggest lessons I have learnt in 2011 are to do with Expectations, Forgiveness & Surrendering/Trust.

  • Lifting OFF expectations from people & focusing on their good qualities, helped me to see them through God's eyes & truly appreciate them! It also resulted in me being more & more content with my life. Truly able to APPRECIATE the things I did take for granted.

  • Drifting a part is the natural result of an unforgiving spirit; forgiveness reverses the trend by restoring and healing broken relationships. Forgiveness releases the individual(s) to God, releasing them from your judgement and allowing God to deal with them in His mercy.

  • Trust & surrendering go hand in hand. You canNOT surrender all to God, unless you trust Him.  Meditating on His word increased my trust in Him.

I have had so many highlights that I could share but I have just a few for today. I will probably tweet the rest or tell you personally.

1) Flying to Poitiers - France

In May 2011, I went to France to surprise a very good friend of mine. He went away to study for the year and so for his birthday me and his sister went to see him. Defiant highlight!

This is the remains of the building where Christians were martyred many many years ago...
2) iStyle: Birthday Girl

In November, a friend of mine asked me to style her for her birthday. It was an absolute pleasure to be able to do something I love, for her. We went out for the day in Kingston and after going from shop to shop we finally found the winning dress, put together with shoes and accessories we had spotted earlier that day.

Me with the lovely Birthday Girl. Simmy x

3) Spending Time with my family!

This year we had a new edition to the family; my sister & her husband's first son; Aidan. He is such a handsome child.

Not all members of my family present in this collection.

All in all I am ending 2011 smiling and knowing that 2012 does hold greater things. Thank you all that have played a part in my 2011, however great or small, no matter the outcome. Thank you! <3

One important thing I would like to leave with you...

Learn to forgive & let go! Let today be the start of the rest of your life. Accept living in God's peace. End 2011 as you mean to go on! Start the New Year right- '...forgive whatever grievance you may have against one another...' Colossians 3:13

Love to all! <3

Presenting my Sweet Mother

I have been meaning to do a blog post about my sweet mother. Obviously, she has been and still is one of my biggest inspirations when it comes to fashion, styling and being a Woman. I have taken a lot from her and the older I get the more I see it. (Especially her hair)

She is such a beautiful lady caring and so hard working!! She has the most AMAZING hair ever!

On the 24th December, my Mum went to a church party and so I decided to capture her outfit. It was rather difficult getting her to just stop moving.. Lol. But I got there in the end.

I have this old photograph of her on my desk, I really love it so wanted to share it with you. :D
This was just a year or so after she had me. Whoop! Whoop!

The Outfit

You know them heels, that you may just need to borrow one day.. yeah it's a lot like that! I can see the vision already.

No weave, no tracks, just her own hair as it is.
I pray the Lord favours me in the same manner... It's already in the genes!

My Mum thinks this is what the youth of 2011 do.. L.O.L! I laugh every time I see this photo.

22 December 2011

A few guys have requested I do some posts that they can relate to, and with great pleasure here is my first post for you gentlemen.

I, Nash Amber have a HUGE like towards male clothing. I do not know why, but I get very happy and smiley when I see guys that are dressed so well. I totally aim to understand the ins and outs of the male side of fashion & style. For the time being, I just wanted to share a few things, that have already caught my eye in regards to clothing for men.

Very soon I am to work alongside some gentlemen and style them, this will be one of my dreams accomplished...WhoOop!! I have a few brothers I have already targeted in my mind as ones I would like to work with...just need to connect with them.. :D

  • Blazers are a good investment. They can be worn casually or formally and give such an established look to any outfit and any male I think. I am yet to see someone that doesn't compliment a nice blazer.

  • Slim fits are a nice look for some guys but not all. Depending on your body shape and the cut of the blazer itself. But in general slim fits are the way forward.

Smart Casual look with Blazer

This is not a new trend but it does give a great finish to any formal look just because of the texture. I  first saw  my older brother wearing one of these and it looked GREAT on him.  I think they look better on men then women. I haven't seen any ladies do justice to them the way men do (yet). If you like blazers, take a snap, email to me nash.amber11@gmail.com so I can see too and if you get a chance try a velvet one.
I think they are great! :D

THIS!! Right here, is it!!!!! :D :D :D!!! LOVE this!!!!!!

I like the bold colours too, as it really does make a statement.
From head to toe...on point! I really like the bow tie look. Looks very sophisticated.

This particular look I would say, best compliments :
Slim, Petite, Slightly Built or Tall guys in particular, from what I have seen.

A few stores I would recommend you to have a look at, where I have seen the Velvet Blazers:

More posts for Men still to come...

Summer Shoot; As promised.

In August I had a photo shoot with a Creative Media Company Dvisionaiir. I have mentioned this shoot in previous blogs & I tweeted about it too but just hadn’t uploaded the photos. (Sorry about that one.) I did the shoot alongside another talented Stylist, a beautiful lady & a good friend of mine! It was so much fun!

For this shoot, I choose 2 different styles. One was a more Edgy look. I was inspired by the boots at first.
From the moment I got these boots, from a small boutique near my area, I could see this look forming & immediately I thought to myself, *BLOG MOMENT!!*

One thing about me is that I LOVE to mix & match items from my wardrobe. I always try to create more than one look for clothes that I have. Some are easier to recreate than others, but that's the fun part for me. Getting creative and thinking outside the box. I hope to do more blog posts of outfits that I remix into different looks.
