Living Set Apart for God

So my blog first started out because I was led to share my modest outfits. I remember saying to Father/God 'I don't think anyone would be interested in what I do, it's just normal, nothing exciting.' Much to my surprise God has shown me that what I considered 'normal' i.e covering up in my dressing, now in Christ is not the norm for many who are the church. Which is so sad. I am not at all suggesting that I am the standard for modesty-- I am merely a product of His word, transforming my soul and mind, so that my decisions become more godly.

My heart towards my posts, videos, blogs, is to share what God has taught me on the subject of being His Bride, and adorning ourselves in modest manner. So that you do not make the mistakes I made, and so that you can know His love and standard towards us. I know what I know by His grace and I am still learning. Presenting a submissive heart to God is KEY, however we should also present His temple in a godly manner. We don't do it for guys, not for complements, but simply to worship Him in everything we do. My heart is that we will all be in right standing with Him, not by our own works, but by believing in the work done on the cross, the work of salvation in Jesus.

Yet we must recognise, though we are NOT saved by works (Ephesians 2:9)...our salvation does need to be worked out (Philippians 2:12). Things in our lives will not change by default. We don't suddenly start to think godly, or respond in love, appreciate time, see money right, dress modestly, stop swearing, stop thinking lustfully....although some have testimonies of immediate changes in Christ we ALL have the responsibility of practicing truth and righteousness. We have to make godly choices and choose to kill the flesh, to walk after the spirit.

'This is the message we heard from Jesus and now declare to you: God is light, and there is NO darkness in Him at all. So we are lying if we say we have fellowship with God but go on living in spiritual darkness; we are not practicing the truth.' ~ 1 John 1:5, 6

Such a strong and cutting chapter and this verse is so sobering. God didn't put this verse here so we disqualify ourselves, and start to think 'well I am never going to be perfect'. God is not asking we come to Him or serve Him being perfect--He perfects us. However, we are to desire a life pleasing to Him & not this world we have been saved from. We are given the opportunity to be born of LIGHT, born of GOD. To be the product of His seed, to be like Father, like child! We have the opportunity to reflect a HOLY and PERFECT God, FULL of love, compassion and so Set Apart. I LOVE how Set Apart, God is. Set Apart from sin, from darkness and totally light. It gives me soo much hope in knowing that God is truth and there is no ounce of lies in Him. He is so pure and righteous and by His grace I can reflect His image, because I was made in it. Wow! Holy as He is holy.

I John 1:5-6 speaks VOLUMES to me, especially as I used to be SO LUKEWARM! One foot in the word and one in the world, I did what I wanted, without consulting God. He was not my LORD yet I said I was a 'Christian'. A lie according to scripture...as I did not practice truth. [I don't even use the word 'Christian', for myself anymore, as that is something another should identify in me, that I am like Christ--just like in scripture. The apostles called themselves disciples of Christ, others called them Christians because they saw that they were bearing the fruit of Christ. ] I was NOT living CHRIST like at all, but in His mercy God reached me and has graced me, so I do not make excuses for ANY sin. Yes, I had a hard child hood, many things happened around me & to me, that affected me. I was exposed to a lot of nonsense from a young age, yet that is still not an excuse. In Christ I am a new creation, old things have passed away. I no longer identify myself as my old man, I now identity with Christ' word over me.

Sin will destroy anyone of us if we do not submit to Jesus, follow His word and standards. God loves me tooo much for me to flirt with sin and be ineffective--I wasn't created for that. This photo below just reminds me of sin that's not dealt with. Mate! No- no- no! Not on it.

'I have hidden your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you.' ~ Psalms 119:11. Amen - I live on this!!

I didn't even mean to write all that, but I hope it blesses someone and shakes you out of the lies of the enemy. You can be upright in Jesus--living everyday desiring more of Him and dying daily. Killing all fleshly desires. Maybe not all in one day, as we grow and develop in time we have on earth, but surely, you will live in reverence to God and not practice sin. Not live a life of, rave this weekend, church conference next weekend. Maxi dress on Sunday, crop tops on Saturday. Being lukewarm is adultery...James admonished us all with this:

' You adulterers! Don’t you realize that friendship with the world makes you an enemy of God? I say it again: If you want to be a friend of the world, you make yourself an enemy of God. What do you think the Scriptures mean when they say that the spirit God has placed within us is filled with envy? But he gives us even more grace to stand against such evil desires. As the Scriptures say, “God opposes the proud but favors the humble.” So humble yourselves before God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Come close to God, and God will come close to you. Wash your hands, you sinners; purify your hearts, for your loyalty is divided between God and the world.' ~ James 4:4-8.

The solution is in the verses and it's His goodness that exposes our hearts, to lead us to repentance.

As the Holy Spirit convicts you of areas you need to be changed in, do not be afraid to repent & accept His way of living. The word is here to help cleanse us, so we can be effective & I believe one day to enjoy heaven. Why, you may ask?!

Well, I realise that in heaven there is no sin, and there isn't anything outside of God's desires, so if I want heaven to be home for me, in eternity, I need to become acquainted with the standards from now. Holiness reigns for He is holy - holy - holy!

With love
