Styling a Jumpsuit

This week I was invited to a wedding for one of my good friends and sisters in Christ. The wedding was so wonderful and touching - I totally love meaningful weddings with loving families! One thing I really enjoyed was how involved both families were in the day and the stories they shared about the Bride and Groom. It was lovely to see the love in the room and the testimony of how faithful God has been towards the newly wed couple. I'm so honoured to have been there to witness it all.

As it's fairly cold I didn't want to wear a skirt or dress, as I knew I would feel cold (as always) and I don't like wearing black tights to weddings - it's just a personal preference for me. I decided to wear this jumpsuit and as the bride asked me to wear something bright (when discussing outfits with her), I opted for this yellow blazer and red accents.

As the jumpsuit is strapless I would always opt to wear it with a blazer or something else to have the coverage I like. This jumpsuit was a little big for me so I took it in with my sewing machine. I have had this jumpsuit for over a year and this is the first time I have ever worn it! I have given myself a stern word for this year to wear the items I have never worn before. I'm guilty of having clothes I have never worn before so I'm doing a 6 months no shopping challenge (I'm about to enter into month number 3 in March). I chose to do the challenge to really use and wear what I already have before adding anything else.

I twisted an old twist out with shea butter the night before and the definition was so good. I'll be trying it again in the future. This is the first time I have had a twist out work for me, so I'm really pleased.
