Modest Styling Workshop for His Bride

Happy New Month! I hope that June will be a good month for you all.

On 21st May 2016 Set Apart Style had it's first ever workshop...whoop, whoop! A massive thank you to all those who attended and those who supported in anyway possible. God bless you all.

It was such a beautiful event which saw many sisters in Christ coming together with the aim to learn about modesty, styling for our different body shapes, first impressions and what God thinks about us in a fun-loving environment.

There was so much love and affirmation of His word in the room. The key truth I took away is that we are His masterpiece, so we must be grateful for everything God thoughtfully gave us to have and celebrate it! Not one of us was a rushed masterpiece but God really did think about everything He gave us, and it's all for His glory.

OOTD for the workshop:

There is a reason and a story behind why this is the dress I was instructed to wear by the Lord. A few days before the event, the Lord started talking to me so much about LOVE being the motivation for modesty and that this flows from the revelation of knowing we are His. We belong to Jesus.

"But now thus says the LORD, he who created you, O Jacob, he who formed you, O Israel [INSERT YOUR NAME TOO - It is personal!]: “Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine."

Isaiah 43:1

The Lord really wanted to minister to us all that we are His Bride; being prepared for His coming. He prepared this whole event for us, so we would experience and be reminded of this truth. That week more than ever before He was ministering to me that He clothes His Bride in righteousness and that He is a God of detail.

He truly cares about every area of your life, not just the big things but also the small things like our hair, what we eat, what we listen to, what we wear, who we listen to, what we like/don't like. All of it is to cause for our relationship with Him to truly flow and function as a relationship ready for marriage should.

Sometimes sisters in Christ (especially those who are currently single), can talk a lot about marriage here on earth, which is fine when it is not an idol. I believe marriage is a beautiful thing when founded on Jesus as the sure foundation. Although it is lovely to be married here on earth, I am reminded of the fact that we will not be taking earthly marriages into glory with us. There is no marriage in heaven between humans, but there is a marriage! This marriage is between Jesus and His Bride, His church. Marriage here on earth is truly a picture of Jesus with His bride.

"Let us rejoice and exult and give Him the glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His Bride has made herself ready; it was granted her to clothe herself with fine linen, bright and pure”— for the fine linen is the righteous deeds of the saints. And the angel said to me, “Write this: Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.” And He said to me, “These are the true words of God.”

Revelation 19:7-9

In my walk I have heard many talks and teachings about the last days, some great (!) and some that just do not witness with my spirit. I have heard about judgment day and standing before my Maker which is right and true, and has helped increase the fear of God in my heart for how I live my time here on earth, however I was rarely taught on WHO the Maker is to me.

I truly believe that learning about the judgement to come is good but the most important thing is to know Who we are going to meet as that changes how we respond to Him. If we see Him as a mean judge we will not want to come close and be intimate with Him, but when we learn that He is our Husband and He loves us righteously...we know that His firm rebukes is because He deeply cares and not because He does not want us to enjoy life or look physically good.

Knowing Who He is to us as the church should be what motivates us. Knowing that Jesus is our prize, He is the one we are looking forward to marry, which makes living in this world and going through trials worth it. Same way couples here on earth do go through a lot of tests and trials but knowing that soon they will be one, married and serving Christ motivates them even more because they are in love.

Knowing that it's My First love who will be judging me one day does still give me the fear of Him in my heart, but also it gives me genuine excitement, so meet face to face with Him (not that I think we can just stand there in His glory was ease, lol...I will properly crumble to the ground when I see Him but I hope you get what I's the LOVE).

When you are in love, you are willing to give up things, make changes and learn what your loved one likes and does't like for the sake of making the relationship even better. So if wearing something offends your Bridegroom, love will have no issues, no pride, no reason to resist the comforting loving words of their First Love.

So I ask you, Bride of Christ, His temple...are you in love with your Maker?

A few years ago, (interestingly after a break-up and going through the process of healing, forgiving and regaining hope in marriage here on earth) God revealed to me this new concept, well it was not new but just new to me, of me/us being His bride!

“For your Maker is your husband, The LORD of hosts is His name; And your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel; He is called the God of the whole earth. For the LORD has called you Like a woman forsaken and grieved in spirit, Like a youthful wife when you were refused,” Says your God.”

Isaiah 54:5-6

Suddenly these verses started to click and make sense. His unending love was beginning to deepen within the depths of my soul.

I have to be honest at first I thought it was all about marriage here on earth, but I quickly learnt it can't be as I didn't even desire to marry but somehow I was loving this love story of Jesus, the Bridegroom coming back for His church, and as He is a personal God, that means He is coming back to marry me!

"And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband."

Revelation 21:2

OOTD continued:

White was symbolic of the purity He is establishing in His bride/church and the gold (in the heels and clutch) was symbolic of the pure gold He sees us as after the refining process. No matter where we are in this walk, we can be like pure gold but there is a process of refinement required, which we must submit to if we desire to truly grow and be people that are burning with love for Jesus.

If any heart truly wants to understand modesty, it comes from having the revelation that God is holy. That holiness is truly beautiful for God is set apart from darkness and is the Light. Not only is He holy but He is also LOVE. His Love is life changing. His LOVE motivates purity (modesty).

This workshop was truly an amazing day and I loved His hand in and through every last detail - the food, the decor, the catwalk, the gifts, the running order... all of it! God truly cares about every area of our lives.

I know some of you ladies really wanted to come but were unable to but do not be sad or upset there will be another one soon by His grace. Stay on the look out on this blog for a special announcement in blog posts to come.

When you can, please have a read of Matthew 25 - the parable of the ten virgins. That passage really speaks volumes to me about preparation. You can be doing the right things for God, but lack the wisdom to prepare for the most important wedding ever! Let's be wise in these end times.

By His grace I will be writing another blog post on Being the Bride of Christ, but until then I wanted to leave you with these verses and let you know that Jesus loves His bride; He loves you.

Look forward to seeing you at my next post.

PS: For those on YouTube, look out for a video from the day itself, coming very soon.

With Love,
Nash Amber, His Bride.
